The BoardingArea network hosts two annual in-person events that bring together professionals and enthusiasts in the travel industry. The first event is BAcon, or BoardingArea Conference, which is primarily aimed at BoardingArea bloggers, offering a platform for attendees to connect, learn, and socialize. The conference provides educational sessions, social events, and opportunities to improve blogging skills, making it a valuable experience for attendees. The second event is the Freddie Awards, which are the most prestigious member-generated awards in the travel loyalty industry. While the awards are open for voting to the public, only a limited number of attendees can be invited to the award ceremony. The Freddie Awards recognize outstanding frequent travel programs and are a symbol of excellence in the industry. Both events offer an outstanding experience and provide attendees with the tools and knowledge to enhance their skills in the travel industry.

BAcon

BAcon, or BoardingArea Conference, is an annual event organized by the team at BoardingArea for our bloggers to connect, learn, and socialize. The idea for the conference originated from a series of stimulating conversations among BoardingArea bloggers after a day of attending educational events like BlogWorld. The first BAcon was held in Colorado Springs in 2013 and has since been held in different locations, including Las Vegas. The conference is primarily for BoardingArea bloggers. BAcon offers educational sessions, social events, and opportunities to improve blogging skills, making it a valuable experience for attendees. The goal of the organizers is to make BAcon an outstanding experience and to provide attendees with the tools and knowledge to enhance their blogging.

Freddie Awards

The Freddie Awards are the most prestigious member-generated awards in the travel loyalty industry. Named in honor of Sir Freddie Laker, the awards were introduced in 1988 by InsideFlyer magazine's Randy Petersen. The goal of the Freddie Awards is to give a voice to frequent flyers and to honor the efforts of an industry that counts more than 300 million members worldwide. The obelisk-shaped statuette is a symbol of excellence that can only be obtained by exceeding the high expectations of frequent travelers. Today, over 4.2 million ballots are cast annually, and voters can cast a ballot for their most valuable travel loyalty program in one of three geographic regions: The Americas, Europe/Africa, or the Middle East/Asia/Oceania.
