If you find your content being used on another website without your permission, we have several ways to approach this. In some cases, this can be handled simply by contacting the website and asking nicely. We suggest that you reach out first to the website in question before we get involved with a DCMA. We have learned about 50% of these content stealers are just misinformed people that didn’t know the rules.
Ways to reach out and request that your information be taken down:
Visit their Contact or About page and email or submit a comment
Post a comment on the actual post
Message them on their social media platform
Other, you may have to get creative to find their contact information
An example of what to write is:
Hi XXXX,
I am Bob from BobTravels.com and I see that you are using my content without my permission. I am requesting that you take down my content within 48 hours. If I don’t see any progress on this, I will have my team at BoardingArea.com get involved. If you have any questions, please feel free to respond. I appreciate your swiftness in handling this matter.
Thank you,
Bob
Some of these sites take time to get the request, so if you have not seen any progress in 7 business days, please email help@boardingarea.com. We will then send over a DCMA and go from there.
