BoardingArea uses Quickbooks/Intuit to process taxes.

Onboarding Tax Form

All U.S.-based bloggers need to have a W-9 form (link) on file. You will need to email the completed W-9 form to accounting@boardingarea.com when signing up to become a blogger with us.

End-of-the-Year Tax Forms

  • If you are using direct deposit to receive payments from BoardingArea, then Quickbooks Intuit will mail you Form 1099-NEC.

    • Note: Keep your mailing address up to date with BoardingArea to prevent delays.

  • If you are using PayPal to receive payments from BoardingArea, then PayPal will provide Form 1099-K in your account (more info).

There could be several reasons why you will not receive any 1099 forms from us, even though you may have had some revenue from your blogging, including:

  • You were paid through PayPal. PayPal issues its own tax forms. however, as we understand it PayPal only issues a form 1099-K if your PayPal revenue exceeded $20,000.

  • You don't have a tax basis established in the U.S.

  • The total rev-share you earned from your blog was less than $600 and would typically be paid via Direct Deposit from us.
